In Chariots of Fire, Eric Lindell was asked by his sister why he runs, since he was destined to be a missionary. His response was, "I run because it pleases God." I paint not for the money or fame, but because God gave me the gifts to paint and when I paint, I know it pleases God.
I started painting about 9 years ago with maybe one painting per year. This year i have already done 10 paintings. I now have a passion for painting and telling a story with every painting. I am not interested in just pretty pictures but want my paintings to move and inspire someone who views the painting. I love portrait painting because each portrait is about the person and where they are at that moment. I want to capture that moment and hope to tell something about the person as well as what they are feeing at that moment.
I also love painting scenes particularly water scenes. I am mesmerized by the water. I have a condo in Grand Lake that overlooks two of the lakes and I am never tired of how different the water is at different times of day and weather and season.
I paint what I am moved by and by images that look into the depth of a human soul.
